The pawn shop down the street
sells stolen goods
the army-navy store
who proudly proclaims dubya-dubya 2
Is owned by a sweet old japanese couple
The local soda-jerker is a Pak
He sells me cigarrettes on discount
The arcade closed down
The kids can't play skee ball no more
Its a foot massage place now
Ricky joined the army, aint heard from him
Scot got his ass blown off and is comin' home
An eye-for-an-eye I guess
One of the old warehouses burnt ta-cinders
the fuzz suspect arson
The old steele factories continue to rust
next to the scrap yard filled
with thier innards
The river runs ragged over its banks
and the rain comes h
The World is Shrinking
I begin this statement with one simple supposition; the world is shrinking. Not in the sense that it is getting any smaller or anything like that but that China doesnt seem as far away as it did when I was a child. I cant even imagine how far it must have seemed to my parents generations let alone my grandparents generation. The distance has not changed, but the ways to cover the distance have become far more efficient. It used to take the better part of a year, plus the straining of 30 strong men, several tons of wood, and proper wind conditions to cross the Atlantic Ocean. What does it take n
The flight was hell
And the food sucked
We got to the crowded house
Jesus!
My cousins number in the
scores
Uncle Max is still a nutter
A nutter with a million
stories
Of days in school
and pencil drops
and of wrecking houses
and of travels through the world
and of his brothers and dad
Tom still lives down the
road
He never was good at leaving
The red-eye saved my
cousin from the Grand Canyon
And from grave yard at a
drug store
I had to buy some nicer
clothes
I had to buy some cleaner shoes
Big Paul got there before
any of us
His flight from the hell
of an island paradise
where
he's done everything
but can't leave
Its been warm for so long
that sometimes it can be
so easily forgotten
the heat isn't a constant
Where once there was
sparkling emerald
and golden green
leaves who would shift and
rustle
as the wind twitched and
tustle
There is nothing
but
barren gray branches
like fingers of reaching
skeleton
too restless in the biting
breeze
to sit and to idle
and to wait
Its soon cross the road
and around the bend
and over the hill
and past the horizon
that there is always that
cold
no matter how long summer is
I lay awake in those
brutal savage hours
before dawn
yet not quite
night
Those hours
when all else
has failed
the tube
plays nothing
but paid programming
and I finished
my book
an hour and a half
in the past
They say its a
disease
some sorta
disorder
but I think
its annoying
The sunrises are dull
after the first two or three
and solitaire really
blows
when you know
you got nothin' else
you could be doin'
It was about 58
and a third hours
since I slept last
damn what a great night
I could build a house of cards
I could beat my video games
for an umpteenth time
I could read my books
for the thousandth

November Nights and ciggaretts
In the orangey light
the street lamp's light
Out in front of
our favortie haunt
The orangey glow
of still lit ciggarrets
at the mouths of
my friends
The blustery November
Street corner in front
of that coffee shop
where the punks and
the losers
play their crappy music
but we all cheer anyways
we wanna be those guys
My friends
smokin' thier ciggarrets
Cussing up a storm
laughing like fools
at stupid jokes
and stupid friends
All the strangers
Given' us losers
weird looks as we stand
With coffee and cigarrets
putin' off a blue haze
We talk to the drunks
Who ramble about philosphy
and the meaning of life
and the ecce
Autumn breaks on in
Like a punch in the face
Blasted away my
Summer blue
and the green
from the trees
Scares the color
and the bugs
away with a
wind-storm shouted
promise of
cold gray rain
not the warm
sweet-smelling
summer rain
No, the rain that
in its own
awful grayness
saps the color
out of every
living thing
And I sit
in my summer
shorts, my
summer dream
the windows
wide open
with the fans on
hoping that
if i pay no mind
to the autumn gray
the gray
like a demon
stole the
innocent summer
away and
shattered the blue
that if I pay no mind
maybe it will go away
Fiends without, Fiends within by Titan74, literature

Fiends without, Fiends within
Draw your blade old friend
one more ideal to defend
let us seek out these new foes
dont let your courage bend
to those who seek our bodys to rend
So i kept our promise to avenge
i took out your misbegotten revenge
on those who make others cringe
minds were left very much unhinged
i was left soiled to the last fringe
now in the wake of rage i repent
i duck out those who's blood was spent
the honesty of rage no longer rent
what some call my mind with a dent
but the blood from my wrists tell the story of a sould unkepmt
To grow to strength
To stand 'neath the stars
Your soul must learn humility
For it to go far
To keep a strength of mind
to get a stolid courage
Your soul must first
Face all that challenge
All that would suppress
the limitless potential
all greats gain
To writhe and squirm
under the pressure great
To hide and cower
From the darkness that blots
out so much horizon
Is not a way to grow
To stand strong
and umoving to those
Fears and desperations
Is the ultimate goal
That you will not stand under the stars
but that the stars will stand under you
Just keep struggling with all your might
no matter, your goals lie just out of sight
only a thin veil of endless fog
you feel you have to heed, like a distant baying dog
should have thought the distance
before you defined your so-called existance
now i stand your last chance
as you lay broken from this deadly dance
you plead and beg for your divine spark
what good reason do i have to not let the dark
pour down around you and let it destroy
your miserable life, let it drown your joy
but i hold out my hand and pull you free
just know if i hadnt it wouldnt have been a tragedy
You inspire anger, inspire fears
When will you stop your charade
when all that's left is tears
Fate has a righteously cruel way to aid
Those who cannot stand for themselves
In the end you wont win, not by a mile
So I beg you don't let the coldness delve
too far down into your heart, lest it will crack the soul
And when all is said and done on this mortal coil
where do you want to stand in the mind of another
An ignorant, vulger fool or a man worth the toil
to keep the idea he was like a brother
If you wish to remain a devil, keep going, more plans to foil
i just hope for you that you learn quick
that in the end you cannot be roy
Its funny to me
The hopes you cant see
burning yearnings for glory
of me 'an you its about to get gory
Even if you try, your dreams cant kill me
fore even if the hounds of hell
bark and bay in unison with the devils violin
Ill just laugh and say "your not well
you need rest, here take a nap,
right here in my bed of sins"
I hope you relise everything and anything
you built will come crashing down on your chest
should you try anything that arrogant
anything that foolish, dumb, crazy
you'll not see the last of me
but the last thing you see will be me
Sleep now, dream now
I'll be here when you awake
When you cry, when you sob
To be a comfort becomes my job
Ever can you lean on me
I'll be here when things go wrong
I'll be here when times are rough
But for now, sleep, I'll hum you a song
Just promise somthing of your dreams
Please have them of me
Because ever have mine been of you
Oh, the sinner's waltz
played in the black abyss
this is how they pay for their faults
Lust smiles, as these sinners kiss
Envy laughs as they all grow jealous
Pride and Anger smiled wide
as these sinners kill eachother's brides
Gluttony chokes on the wedding cake
And greed takes a bite for his own sake
but last of all Sloth didnt speak
just sat and watched the ichor leak
so come dance with the sinners
come dance with me
We stay on this earth for but a flash
so come on, add a dash
a quick flavor of the earthly sin
and bring your friends, bring your kin
The devil provides the music
So what stays your feet.
Just let go, hell d
The life and death of Ben
The story of my great friend
His life was of hell and high water
yet he never once did complain
he just found piece each night
by crawling to a famialar place
He found the bottom of the bottle
Now where have you gone Ben
I can no longer see
what was your fate again
to sail away in that damned sea
that damned sea of booze
Ben would spend long nights
would spend hours of frights
he talked to the devil
yet never once did ben shirk away
when the devil stole his soul
ben laughed abit and didnt fear
"i guess when i die
you can get me right here"
Ben said with a smile.
"Cause this is where i am

Why is the flag tattered
Why is our faith shattered
Silhoueted against flame
Who is it that deserves the blame
When mothers cry for lost sons
when the only sound is perpetually guns
The crys of Apocolypse! Armegeddon!
Silenced by stiches of needle and thread
How do we function when idiots give advice
I guess it comes at a high price
Keep ignorant, keep tough
You will never be bothered by this stuff
But for me it is unescapable bait
I see too clearly, I sealed my fait.
I've got broad shoulders
Strong enough to hold up the world
enough to stop the larges of boulders
Strong enough to hold off your problems
My heart is strong and beats for others
I wont complain about my hands forever black
I'll just save everyone else like they were brothers
Ever will I go on through and hell and back
always count on me I'll be able to take
whatever can be mustered against us
Just remember when all hell breaks loose
When the shit hits the fan, when it all falls to dust
I'll stand like I had with an outstretched hand and resolute feeling
If only so you can be safe

In a Bar Around Saturn
Ho there, astronaut. I hope you don't mind me saying it, but you're the prettiest thing in a Fleet uniform I've seen this side of the belt.
Wait girl, don't run away like that! I don't mean you no harm. With all the radiation I've taken in my day, well, lets just say that isn't what I'm interested in. Sit back down, let me buy you a drink by way of apology. Barbot, a Reactor Fluid for me and - yes? One for the lady, too. That's good, girl, even with all the drugs around today, real astronauts always drink pure, natural, liver-killing alcohol. So it ever was, and so may it ever be. Amen!
You want to hear war stories, do you? Yeah, y

I really like your poem about Rugby, it's one of my all time favorite sports and I just started playing awhile back. It's a very inspiring poem so thank you very much for writing it
